Sonny Brar, Global Senior Vice President, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Assurance

Sonny’s role ensures overall compliance with Safety, quality assurance, food safety and workplace safety law. Sonny oversees regulatory compliance for North America, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and Mexico. Previously to this, Sonny had similar leadership and executive roles for IKEA Canada, Maple Leaf Foods Canada, Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us and Sobeys Canada.
Sonny is a graduate of Occupational Health and Safety, Justice and Public Safety and Business Management from University of Toronto and Australian Institute of Business and he comes with his MBA- Master of Business Administration (MBA). Sonny also has is designation as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals. Sonny was a previous Board of Director for Ontario Food Protection Association and is current Advisory council member for Food, Pharmaceutical & Personal Products Advisory Committee member with Workplace Safety and Prevention Services.
Jim Brown, Vice President, Construction Centre of Excellence
Ontario Power Generation
Jim Brown is the Vice President, for the Construction Centre of Excellence (CCoE) at Ontario Power Generation (OPG). The CCoE is responsible for construction services within the Enterprise Projects Organization, providing safety oversight and quality management services for OPG’s $50B portfolio of projects.Among Jim’s portfolio are some of the largest energy infrastructure initiatives in Canada, including the Darlington Refurbishment Project, the Darlington New Nuclear Project, constructing the first grid-scale Small Modular Reactors in North America and most recently the Pickering Refurbishment Project.
Jim has been with OPG for 19 years and is passionate about ensuring safe sustainable construction activities in support of OPG’s New Generation Growth strategies, as well as playing a leading role delivering a skilled trades strategy to support future construction projects as part of the province’s Pathways to Decarbonization initiatives.A licensed professional engineer, Jim also sits on Durham College’s Board of Governors, helping to shape the next generation of students.
Jennifer Edey, Senior Vice President, Operational Services & Digital Technology
Bruce Power
Jennifer Edey is the Senior Vice President of Operational Services and Digital Technology at Bruce Power. She oversees the operation of key services that directly support the safe operation of Bruce Power’s nuclear fleet. These services include Information Technology, Information and Cyber Security, the operations and maintenance of all facilities and infrastructure, the document management system for Bruce Power, Radiological Waste Management and Health Physics. She also leads Emergency and Protective Services, which consists of Nuclear Security, Fire Response and Prevention, and Emergency Management.
Dorothy Moryc, Vice President, Grid Transformation and Chief Distribution Officer

Dorothy Moryc is the Vice-President of Grid Transformation and Chief Distribution Officer at Enova Power Corp., a merger between Waterloo North Hydro and Kitchener Wilmot Hydro.Inspired by her experience at a high school summer camp for Women in Engineering, Dorothy chose the Electrical Engineering program at the University of Waterloo.She has gained extensive knowledge of electrical utilities and the electricity system while working on leading-edge projects and volunteering in numerous working groups and committees within the sector.
With over 25 years of experience in the utility industry, she is a progressive leader who has consistently contributed to the Ontario electric utility industry. A dynamic innovator for change, Dorothy is not afraid to “dive right in” for the betterment of the energy sector.Dorothy holds a BASc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University, and is a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) association.
Jody Young, President and CEO
Workplace Safety & Prevention Services
Jody is a health and safety leader with over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors. Before joining WSPS as the President and CEO in June 2023, Jody held the role of Assistant Deputy Minister, Employment and Training Division with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
In that role, Jody provided strategic leadership to the transformation of Employment Services in Ontario. She spent most of her career in Health and Safety Compliance and Enforcement and served as Assistant Deputy Minister for Fair, Safe and Healthy Workplaces in both Ontario and Alberta. Jody is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and completed her Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto.
